My own art ISAI first was developed as a theoretical concept of the Art with only one mental, internal and external principal movement-form.
It is difficult to point out exactly the exact year when ISAI was born, but let’s say that it was the end of 1997.
This is a kind of ‘two fish play’ which is an very ancient Semitic symbol and probably arrived much later to the place known as China today (pls. see the discoveries of the archeological excavations at the Neolithic site at Banpo near Xian, China, 4–5thousands years B.C.. The findings include alphabet very similar if not identical to the ancient Hebrew alphabet as well as other very typical Semitic cultural reminding) and most probably came back to the West as Yin-Yang.
I found that this kind of movement is the very basis of the every vertically performed natural human movement.
This is a theoretical study, external-internal exercises, external-internal form (Chinese term is Tao, Japanese Kata), internal-external exercises and internal-external form.
This is also the application study.
Lets say that I never saw something similar to ISAI but of course this is only my own personal impression (and the opinion of the few my friends and colleagues who saw the demonstrations) and I can be wrong.
I use also the breathing exercises in order to create sufficient amounts of the energy (Ruah in Hebrew, Chi, Ki, Prana) and to create the ability of iron shirt and so on. These exercises passed the same process as all other movements and drills and came from Hatha Yoga (I studied it since I was 15 years old) and different Chigong drills.
They can be performed statically (almost statically) and dynamically.
I also elaborated the symbol of ISAI which reflexes its meaning and different aspects of the art.
This symbol reflexes internal meaning of ISAI as well as the walking patterns and the internal and external movements and directions.
Basically this is rounded a bit Magen-David (David Star). Inside there is a circle. Inside the circle there is a flower having 6 petals (it is also 6 pairs of fish) with a center.
The Magen-David itself is located on the smaller than itself 6 wide-petals flower, turned 30 degrees relatively to Magen-David and giving to the symbol somewhat rounded appearance.
This symbol reflexes also the very important principal of the ‘three’ which I didn’t describe here – see the triangles of Magen-David.
By the way, Magen-David itself is a pair of male-female or two fish as well as it represents the human body. But this is a little bit too complicated for this short article.
I would say that one of the most important feature of ISAI is that all internal and external movements and meanings of ISAI are the same.
All these movements are the only one principle movement which reflexes the basic low of the Nature. I would say that this is a reflection and application of the monotheistic approach to the bodily mechanics and to the Martial Arts.
I have to say that to consider ISAI only in the narrow meaning of of its martial application is very stupid as well as stupid to spend many years to polish the art just for propelling fists and legs near somebody’s face. But it is even more stupid to be in so poor condition that other people can propel their fists near your face.
The real target of study is quite different and generally speaking ISAI is just a tool for better life, for better understanding of ourselves, and of the great world which we are only part of it. This art is addressed to all these who will like it.
The process of creating of the art took about 8 years of the very hard and intensive work in order to understand how simple and natural the things are.
And … I still continue my investigations.
